Thai Chef is among the first to prove that Thai food outside Thailand could be absolute authentic. Along with its evocative flavors of lemon grass, sweet basil, and coconut milk, Thai food is the result of subtle blending of herbs and spices and the incorporation of the crispy freshness of stir-fried vegetables, curries, and rich sauces. Some visitors have heard, erroneously in point of fact, that all Thai food is hot, or extremely hot. Although some Thai dishes are quite spicy, far more dishes are completely mild, and require no adjustment whatsoever.
Oak would be Owner and Executive Chef. Bangkok born and raised, he apprenticed under Tawin Phongsak, teacher of Royal Thai Chefs for the Royal Family of Thailand. After moving to Canada, Oak worked in several local Thai restaurants before launching Thai Chef Restaurant. He wanted to give Oakville true Thai cuisine – flavoured with his own creativity. Oak and Thai Chef are the real deal -- the Thai chef- and owner-operated restaurant in Oakville.
